Prosser, Washington, April 1, 2014 – On Tuesday, April 8th, the Society of Collision Repair Specialists (SCRS) will hold an open board meeting from 3:00 – 5:00pm in Portland, Oregon. The meeting, held in Salon 1 of the Red Lion Hotel on the River – Jantzen Beach, will be open to anyone wishing to learn more about the current state of the association’s activities. The two hour meeting will include updates from SCRS staff, committees, and Affiliate Associations outlining current and future work initiatives each group has undertaken on behalf of the membership.

SCRS Education Committee Member Gary Wano will provide an informative report on information gathered from the BMW National Aftersales Conference. The presentation will include an update on BMW’s plans relative to the Certified Collision Repair Center program, insurer relationships, and insight into discussion surrounding repairability of the carbon fiber chassis, aluminum frame rails and thermo plastic outer panels on the i3 and i8 electric vehicles that will be entering the marketplace soon.

In January, Toby Chess and Committee Chairman Kye Yeung presented on behalf of the Committee, focusing on new products that can aid in collision repairers in producing great repairs on modern cars.

SCRS will also welcome Barbara Crest, Executive Director of the Northwest Automotive Trades Association and Janet Chaney, Executive Officer of the Oregon Collision Repair Specialists, to give updates on activities of both Oregon based affiliate associations of SCRS.

It is not necessary to register to attend the SCRS Open Board Meeting, but RSVPs are requested for the awards event and Repairer Roundtable being held the following day.
