🏍 Project Example – Yamaha V Star Refresh

The demo project was a 2000 Yamaha V Star motorcycle with:

Mismatched fenders and tank.
Old decals buried under clear.
Black plastic fenders that needed adhesion promoter.

Prep work included:

Stripping paint transitions and decals.
Bare metal → Self-etch primer.
Bare plastic → Adhesion promoter + filler primer.
Everything finished with multiple coats of Perfect Match Primer.

Then came the paint scheme:

Two-tone design: Charcoal Gray Metallic + Black racing stripe.
After laying down color, it was time for the One K Clear magic. ✨

🎨 Applying One K Clear – Step by Step

Surface Prep
- Clean thoroughly.

- 2 minutes before use.
- Shake 10 seconds for every minute during spraying.
Ideal Conditions
- Temp: 65–85°F
- Low humidity (your paint hates sticky weather 🌫️).
Application
- Hold can 4–8 inches from surface.
- Spray in smooth, even passes.
- 50–75% overlap each pass.
- Apply 2–3 coats, waiting 10 minutes between.
Timing
- Recoat: within 2 hours or after 48.
- Dries to touch in 30 min.
- Handle in 2 hours.
- Wet sanding/buffing: optional, not required.
