Too Much Time on their Hands

February 15, 2009 by Butler--BCRN Leave a Comment

My mother sent me an e-mail with a video attached titled “All Physics.” After reading about it and watching the video, I decided that some people must have a lot more time on their hands than I do. However, it is a real cool video.

The e-mail claims that the video took over 600 takes and three months to make. It also claims that no part of the video is computer generated. I did not spend the time to research the video to determine if the claims are true or not. However, I think that you will agree that it’s an innovate video.

Watch the short video and decide for yourself. Leave us a comment telling us what you think about it.

It would be cool if everything worked right the first time in collision repair.

BCC Student Demonstrates How To Apply Fiberglass Filler To a Welded Area

November 14, 2008 by Butler--BCRN 2 Comments

Brandyn, a BCC Collision Repair student, demonstrates how to apply fiberglass filler to a welded area on a vehicle. He also explains why fiberglass filler is needed, as apposed to plastic body filler, over welded areas.

As I convey to my students, just learning the content does not necessary mean that they can perform it. However, after learning a task, applying the task by practicing it, and then explaining and teaching the task by demonstrating it to others will assure that they will be able to properly perform it.

Here is a quick analogy. Reading the Atkins Diet book will not help you lose weight. You must apply what you learn to reap the benefits.

Watch the short video of Brandyn demonstrating how to apply fiberglass filler. He is well on his way to reaping the benefits that collision repair has to offer.
