Some OEM’s that prohibit anchoring their vehicles, for structural realignment, by the pinchweld flanges are:
Porsche, Audi, Volkswagen, BMW, Mercedes Benz, Ferrari,Lamborghini, Aston Martin, Rolls Royce among some others. Always follow the OEM required procedures for anchoring and structural realignment. The reason for this requirement is that the lower rocker panel mating flanges (“pinchwelds”) on these vehicles are weld-bonded and clamping in these areas will destroy the bond of the structural adhesive and could lead to a failure of the structural integrity of the vehicle in a subsequent collision event.
