Starting out as a hobby helping his brother tinker with cars Patrick continued his journey in this career pathway. He attended Butler’s Auto Tech program, then he decided to attend the Collision Repair program at Butler as well. Patrick worked at a local body shop while training for this career. It is amazing how a hail storm can create so much work. A news video from Oklahoma City states that collision repair shops have been booked for three months and they don’t see getting caught up any time soon. In fact, they are so busy it is hard for the repair shops to schedule in their regular collision repair work. As a body shop owner says in the video, fender benders only take 3 to 5 days. However, hail damage jobs can take 30 to 40 days. This is because a hail storm usually creates damage on every panel of the vehicle. This requires body repairs, remove and replace parts, and remove and install parts like headliners when replacing roofs.
