Low Cost Tips For Masking Before Painting

May 23, 2013 by admin Leave a Comment

MASKING TIPS PICC.001This is a video lesson on how to mask before painting.  Before we start, I have a little intro video before the actual video starts.  I think you will find it interesting.  Check it out!

A top notch spray booth helps when it come to eliminating dirt in a paint job.  However, I have seen dirty paint jobs in the best quality spray booths.  One thing you may overlook is the masking.  By sealing the edges and underneath up as shown in the video prevent overspray from getting on the frame and other unwanted areas.  However, it helps keep the dirt from these areas from ending up on your paint job as well.

There is more to a clean paint job than masking, but this is one simple step you can take to produce cleaner paint jobs.

1966 Mustang Restoration Videos

May 16, 2013 by admin 2 Comments

Videos – The Story – Parts

This rebuild has been a slow process over the year. We’ve worked on it a little here and there as we had extra time and money. However, we made videos with the steps we took during the process.

When we started, we did not even have a garage, so this is not your regular full restoration, but DIY methods with a few basic hand tools and a desire to get it done.

Note: This project has been put on hold due to finances.  I hope to continue on this project again when I can afford it.  Until then…enjoy the videos and other projects I have going on.

I hope these videos help and encourage your to get out in the garage and work on your projects.

This is a older video series.  They only shows pictures, but I do explain the process of cutting out old rust, fabricating a new patch panel, and welding the patch into place.  Another option is to purchase pre-made patch panels that can be cut to fit and welding in place.

To check out a variety of pre-cut rust patch panels visit Repair Panels or visit your local supplier

I hope you enjoy the videos and find them useful.

Tips for Changing Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter

April 30, 2013 by admin Leave a Comment

Tips for changing automatic transmission fluid and filter on a 1966 Mustang with a 3.3 liter straight 6 cylinder.

Sure, we would like to slap a V-8 in the Mustang, but that will have to come later….maybe!   It would be great to have a budget like the TV show Overhaulin’ but of course, that is not the case here.

Besides, this gives us a chance to show you a few tips when working on a Mustang with a straight six.  Then if we ever get the cash to do extras, we will show you that too!

When accelerating we could feel the Mustang slip in and out of gear.  So we decided to change the transmission filter and fluid.  This fixed the problem on several Camaro’s I used to have, so I thought it may work for the Mustang too…and it did.  The car now takes off without slipping like it was doing.
