2.  Why wash it if you are going to sand it? Makes no sense at all.

(This question was asked from a video explaining how to prep a surface to be airbrushed.)


Your Answer:  A.  Good point, you really do not need to wash the surface until it is ready to spray.

That is incorrect.  It is very important to remove all of the contaminates before starting repairs.

Here is how I anwsered the question: This is a very important step.  If you don’t remove all of the waxes, grease, dirt,  etc. you are going to smear it around when sanding.  This may result in fisheyes, loss of adhesion, and a number of other problems when painting.
