Obama Signs Law To Eliminate Quiet Cars…Smart Cars Must Make Noise

Obama signed a law requiring electric cars to make a noise.  This includes all electric smart cars and hybrids that make no noise when driving.

 

 

 

 

I was joking around a little in the video, but it really would not surprise me if the aftermarket automotive world comes out with different sounds you can buy for smart cars.  Look how big ring tones went over!  Maybe you will be able to download them from iTunes!

I realize there are a lot of people who like the smart cars…I’m just a little old school and can not get used to the look of them.  Maybe they will grow on me!   Regardless if you like them or not, I do understand why they should make noise.  Especially for blind people who may step out in front of them.  This law will be much safer for everyone.  I’m also an advocate of the law requiring ALL new cars to have back-up cameras on them.  I believe these two new laws are going to prevent many unnecessary injuries and deaths.

There have been a lot of vehicles in the past that I did not like at first, but with time, they grew on me and now I like them.  The smart car has a lot of growing to do if I am going to like them, but who knows I may be sporting in a custom painted smart car with glass packs someday…I already have a smart phone and a smart TV!
