Customers can have any color car they want, as long as it is black. ~Henry Ford
It was Henry Ford’s vision to lower production cost to make his cars affordable for the average person. Along with the assembly line, interchangeable parts, and shift work, Henry was able to bring the cost down making it possible for the average person to purchase a car. This created the explosion of car sales and love for cars in America.
Let’s move forward a few years to the late 1950’s and early 1960’s. Another change was about to change culture and this was due to Ed Roth. Yes, Big Daddy Roth created the custom paint culture. After his custom painted hot rods, pin stripes, and Rat Fink; Americans wanted more than solid colors and the custom paint world continues to be strong today.
Car makers have even gotten on board over the years with stripes, candy paint, metallic, pearls, and every color a person could imagine. Yes, people like options and now they have the money to spend on these options.
Custom Paint Effect – Marble Paint
One cool yet simple custom paint effect is marble paint. This is very simple to do, yet looks awesome. I’m sure there are other companies who make this products, but in the video demonstration below, I am going to demonstrate House of Kolor’s marblizer paint on a test panel. This product is ready to spray out of the can. Different effects can be created depending on the material used to create the texture or by applying translucent colors over the marble paint.
