The 3M Accuspray gun came out several years ago. The first fluid tip they came out with was a 1.8 for spraying primer surfacer. We have been using this spray gun for primer surfacer ever since that time.
They later came out with a 1.4 for spraying primer sealer. This could also work for clear coat if you like using a 1.4 for spraying clear coat. I did not jump on board at that time and try using the gun for primer sealer. A little later they came out with a 2.0 for spraying undercoating and rock guard. Again, I never tried using it for that.
Recently, 3M sent me their new 1.2 and 1.3 fluid tips. So I had them in hand and decided to give it a try spraying waterborne base coat. Of course, I am not going to spray a car without giving it a try first. In the video I will demonstrate using the spray gun and give you my opinion of it. Maybe later I will try the other fluid tips and see how they work.
Here is more information about the spray gun system.
