Why Did My Paint Wrinkle or Lift?

October 5, 2016 by admin 1 Comment

I was asked about what problems may cause the paint to wrinkle or lift.  I’m sure there are other reasons, but I am going to give you a few problems that I have had to cause this.

Have you had this happen to you?  Watch the video to see if this may be the same problems you’re having.

    Thanks, Donny,

I watched this one last night on YouTube. I had the wrinkles happen once and realized I was hitting it too heavy. Sur added a lot of work to the job!

Could you do a video on a single stage repaint of an old pickup? I’m working on my ’90 F-150 and thinking about a color of “OSHA Orange” in Acrylic Enamel, The paint and metal on the doors, fenders and bed of the donor truck are in good shape and I was thinking of using my DA to get things super scuffed up (80- then 120- then 600) and applying primer over that without taking them down to bare metal.

    Thanks Again,

    Bob
