There is a lot of confusion about what 2K primer. In this video I am going to talk about what 1K and 2K primers and the pros and cons of each primer.
K = Component – So why is the term 1 or 2K and not 1 or 2C?
In some countries component is spelled with a k, such as Germany and Sweden. So apparently referring to this term with a k came from one of those countries.

August 17, 2016 at 2:36 pmI just watched your video on 1K vs. 2K primers. Is the 2K the same as a sealer? Is it better for priming on bare metal than self etching primer? In restoring an old Mustang, I have bare metal, some areas of metal with very minor (not deep) rust pitting. Some areas also have the original primer and even the original paint. Which product would be better? Also to get the surface right for painting, I will need to block some areas. What primer is best for this, and can it be used over the 2K if it is a different product such as a high build primer?
