(Mooresville, N.C.) – Brad Paisley guest stars as Rick Hendrick stands in for Ray Evernham as host of the season finale of AmeriCarna on Tuesday, March 18 at 8 p.m. EDT on Velocity. The winner of a record 11 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series owner’s championships and one of the world’s most avid car collectors, Hendrick takes viewers on a journey through Corvette history.
Joining Hendrick will be country music superstar and Corvette enthusiast Paisley. “We’re really lucky in America; we have this iconic sports car that’s so world renowned,” Paisley said.
Since its introduction in 1953 by famous designer Harley J. Earl, the Corvette has been one of the most iconic cars in automobile history.
“The Corvette is the heartbeat of America. It’s amazing how many people Corvette has touched over the years,” said Hendrick, who raced Corvettes in the 1980s and remains one of the top Chevrolet dealers in the United States. “I do have a passion for the car; it has driven me to be in the automobile business. I am so thankful to live the dream and to sell the dream. It doesn’t get any better than this.”
Viewers also will get a never-before-seen look into Hendrick’s private car collection, which houses one of the most extensive Corvette collections in existence. The season finale ends in Bowling Green, Ky., where General Motors vice president of global design Ed Welburn will present the first two 2014 Corvette Stingrays to Hendrick, who also will drive the first convertible version of the car off the assembly line.
