Acura Integra Project – Removing Door Panel, Mirror, Belt Molding, Etc.

We have the next few steps completed on the Acura Integra.  In this video, my son Jordan and myself are going to remove the interior door panel to gain access to the inside of the door.  This will allow us to remove the outside door handle, side molding, belt molding, and mirror.  These parts need to be removed so we can properly prep and paint the door.  Actually, we’re only blending into the door, but the whole door will need to be clear coated.

With the tight fitting parts, removal of some parts are required.  Most door handles now have a rubber gasket around the outside making it difficult to mask and impossible to properly prep and paint the door.  Removing and installing parts may be a little more work than masking, but results in a much better paint job in many cases.
