PlastiDip is a product that I have been asked about by many YouTube and Collision Blast subscribers. It took me awhile to get around to it, but I’ve finally created a video testing it on the Does That Really Work Auto Show YouTube channel. I bought a can of the rubber coating plastidip and tested it on a Pontiac G6 Emblems.
Plastidip is a rubber coating that was originally designed as plastic dip coating used to dip tools in to provide a rubber grip. I remember seeing this product years ago, but I have not ever used it. In the past several years, plastidip has became popular for using on wheels, emblems, and I even watched other YouTube videos of Plastidipping entire cars. I am not certain I would like the whole car sprayed with plastic dip or how long it would last. Although, one good thing about it, is if you do not like the result, it can be peeled off. If the rubber coating is on the surface for a long time, it may be more difficult to peel off…I’m not sure.
Watch the video to see how the coating worked for me on the G6. If you have not already subscribed to use, please subscribe to www.CollisionBlast.com to stay updated on Auto Body and Paint training and access of hours of free training.
