In this video tutorial we are going to show you how to paint stripes on a car. This is basically a two-tone with a stripe in the middle. There are several different ways to achieve this, but this is one of the easier ways in my opinion.

The thing you must be careful when using this method is colors that are going to be painted on top of the color underneath. If the top colors are translucent (colors with little pigment or color) will not hide the underlying color. You may still be able to see a hint of the base color. Paints with high metallic, such as silvers, blues, etc. are the colors to be concerned about.

On this car in the video, the color red was a high hiding color, so we painted straight over the dark purple. However, the top color being silver, we mixed a high pigment color the same shade as the sealer a sprayed a coat where the overspray from the other colors on the car. This eliminated the issue of the silver not completely hiding or covering the darker colors underneath.

I wanted to expand on that issue. The rest is explained in the video.
