This is the night, Thursday night is the night that we will gather with each other and have a wonderful meal. However, I know something you don’t know…..you would not understand if I told you, but I will demonstrate how we should treat each other by serving you. We should find ways to serve each other. I know that we’ve grown close so let’s eat and enjoy each others company. Although, one of you are going to betray our friendship. As we eat, there is something that I can not get off of my mind. It’s kinda a big deal. It’s a good thing, but why does it have to be this way. After everyone is full and satisfied, I still have a lot riding on my shoulders. Something is going to happen to me….tonight. If fact, there are some people that do not like me…they hate me…despise me. My friend is going to go tell those people that hate me where I am. Should I run…get away from here? Perhaps I should hide. Where is my dad, he should be able to help out. After all, he is a very powerful man and he can put them in there place. So I run to my dad and tell him that some people are after me and that I am scared. I don’t want to get hurt or even killed. I stay up all night begging my dad to plan a way to avoid this from happening. Here, they come, I hear them. That is my friend that ratted me out in the front leading the way. He has lead them to me. I know this is the only way. My other buddies try to stop them from getting me, but I stop them as I don’t want them to get hurt. This is my deal and there is no other way. I allow them to take me and I know what is coming. They are going to beat me, but they will spare my life….for now. However, the people hate me so bad, seeing me beat almost to death is not good enough for them. They want me dead. It is now Friday and I have been sentenced to death…..no waiting around, as I will die today. I am in so much pain from being beat, now death is coming. It’s almost time, this is it…but before I take my last breath I have a few things to say. 1) Forgive them for they do not know what they are doing. And the last thing….It is finished!
Those last words were the most powerful words ever spoken. It was the sacrifice of his own flesh and the words to forgive that forgave ALL man kind of ALL their sins….our sins. Thank goodness that every time you sin, Jesus does not have to be beat and hang on the cross until death again. He did it one time for all people….for you, not to hate him, but to understand what he will do for you. Do you have many friends like that? I think we need to give him the respect that he deserves this Easter. All he asks in return is to accept him for who he is….King of King and Lord of Lords.
Have A Great Easter Holiday!
