In this ABRN HOW2 tip Ohio Technical College demonstrate how to weld plastic. There is a lot of plastic used on modern vehicles and probably more plastics and composites will be used in future vehicle designs. Love it or hate it, there is a lot of it on the roads everyday involved in auto accidents. Therefore, properly repairing plastics is an important part of collision repair technology training.
In this video Ohio Technical Instructor, Gerald Kimbro, and student, Nathan Sears, are going to demonstrate how to repair plastic using a plastic welding method.

November 23, 2010 at 2:17 pmthis video furthered my knowledge in plastic repair and the description and step by step procedure really helped me in understanding how important heat management is and also how tapering the edges of ur weld flush with the plastic makes a huge difference in quality of the work.

It also tells that plastic repair is helpfull because it can save the customer money and save time. Repairing plastic looks like a simple process as long as you don’t rush your work and heat the plastic to much you shouldn’t have to many problems.
