Hail Storm From 3 Months Ago Still Have Auto Body Shops Booked

August 5, 2010 by admin Leave a Comment

It is amazing how a hail storm can create so much work.  A news video from Oklahoma City states that collision repair shops have been booked for three months and they don’t see getting caught up any time soon.  In fact, they are so busy it is hard for the repair shops to schedule in their regular collision repair work.  As a body shop owner says in the video, fender benders only take 3 to 5 days.  However, hail damage jobs can take 30 to 40 days.  This is because a hail storm usually creates damage on every panel of the vehicle.  This requires body repairs, remove and replace parts, and remove and install parts like headliners when replacing roofs.

It’s either feast or famine in the collision repair industry.  In times like this the shops work a lot of hours, as there may be times that are slower down the road.  However, the collision repair businesses in Oklahoma City may be ready for that day to get here soon.
