Your First Blog Post
Let’s walk through posting your first blog. Log in at the lower right section of the website. This will take you to the back side if the website. Click on the dashboard. from there you will see different links to the left of the site. You can spend a few minutes clicking on each one of them to get familiar with the function. You can edit your profile and change your password. I encourage you to change your password the first time that you log in so that you do not have to remember the generated password. Alright, now let post your first blog. Click on the Posts tab and click add new. This will open up a screen for you to type in. This has spell check and other tools, but you can copy and paste if you would rather do it that way. Next, there is a expert box. This is optional, but it may help grab the attention of your readers. It is kind of like a teaser to motive your readers to read more.
Only two more things to do and you are ready to publish. On the right side of the site you will see categories. Click the best category that fits you blog article. You can have more than one if it fits in several. Right below that is your tags. These is words that describe your article. They will help reader find your article so be sure to add relevant tags. Now click publish in the upper right section of the site and you are done.
Now What
When you’re done, it’s really done. You can post the article on twitter or other social network as the more comments and likes the post get the higher it will be ranked, which will results in more readers reading your article. However, do not waste your time or money trying to blast your posts as we are going to do that for you. We are using different services to blast your message out there. That’s what this blog is all about. Getting your article read and more FREE traffic back to your website.
How Is This Going To Drive Traffic To My Website?
This is done by adding a few links back to your desired website in your blog post. There are several ways to do this which, we will discuss in upcoming training, but for now just use the link logo in the toolbar above to link your site. Simply highlight the words that you want linked and click on the logo, then another box will pop up for you to add your link. One thing that we do recommend is not to link more than two links per post. This is for your own good, as we do not want Google to think you are trying to spam.
One Thing Not To Do
We will have more training of how to use this website and to improve your business website as well, but I do want to stress one thing before you start posting. Posting links, embedding videos, and posting your old blog posts, articles, etc. is perfectly fine. The more original content the better (this is content that you freshly type and has never been published elsewhere), but all of these methods will be fine. The one thing that we do not want is plagiarism. This is copying and pasting an article from the internet that is not yours and claiming it as your own. There is software to check for this and Google will see that too. We are providing this website for the collision repair industry, not for people to plagiarize or spam. This may have you remove as an author from this website. Not to scare you off, just to make that clear.
What Do I Post?
This is the easy part. Post interesting collision repair YouTube videos, ask collision repair questions to see what kind of answers you get back in the comments, post services that your business offers, or may post about a discount or special offer, old sales letters, brand new off the top content, your passion story of how you got started in the industry, your dreams of going into this industry, training videos, tips and tricks of the trade, or anything else collision repair related. Think of all of the people that will read your posts. If they fing value in it, they will want to click on your link to learn more. This will drive more traffic to your website, which is what it is all about.
