Sam Moser, a collision repair student sent me this video. After watching the video, I think you will agree that vehicles of the next decade are uncertain. What I mean is, there is so much technology, ideas, and engineers creating new concepts, which leaves no one is certain which direction the vehicles of tomorrow will take. What do you think? Are hybrids here to stay or is another alternative fuel going to take over? Who know, but I think that you will find this video interesting. It’s called the disappearing doors.

April 10, 2009 at 11:29 amThanks for the post. An interesting concept..however nothing beats the two old hinges and lock for long term reliability…I just don’t trust all these hydraulics or electric lifts to engage the doors…now, having said that, we need to stay on top of it and always upgrade our knowledge as inevitably change is coming sooner than we might be expecting it…for instance…a lot of the body parts and make up we see now will be replaced by plastic components in order to reduce vehicle weight and improve mileage efficiency. Thanks for sharing this video with us

April 11, 2009 at 1:56 amHave you seen that new concept car that was a joint venture between GM and segway? That is one silly looking and strange ride. The car ballances on two wheels and fits two people in it with zero room for luggage.

April 11, 2009 at 12:31 pmI don’t guess that I’ve seen that car. It sounds strange. Like I tell my students, there is no telling what cars are going to look like in the next 10-20 years. Nothing would surprise me….

April 13, 2009 at 11:10 pmAlthough that is a cool looking concept i do not think it will ever catch on. there are just to many things that can go wrong with it. In terms of new alternative fuels i personally believe it will be Methanol its is a resource we have plenty of it burns fairly clean while offering great performance and millage as soon as they perfect a safe way of using it and engine components capable of handling the extra detonation it will become wildly used i believe. Currently i am working on a Methanol Injection set up for my Thunderbird.
